Evers approves resurfacing work on State Highway 59 in Rock County

MAGNOLIA, Wis. -- Governor Tony Evers on Wednesday signed off on a $1.4 million contract to resurface State Highway 59 between State Highways 104 and 213 in Magnolia, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced.

Payne and Dolan Inc. were signed on as the prime contractor for the work, which is set to begin on April 29. Along with resurfacing, crews will also replace a box culvert, install a new guardrail and replace two pipes that are in the project limits.

State Highway 59 will be closed to through traffic during the construction. Drivers should detour using State Highways 104, 11 and 213. Work is expected to wrap up in late July.
