Driver rescued following rollover down hill in Patton Township

PATTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WTAJ) – A vehicle rolled over an embankment, into a ball field near Park Forest Elementary Wednesday morning, trapping the driver inside.

The white vehicle was driving along Valley Vista Drive in Patton Township, Centre County, when it crossed the yellow line into the opposite lane of traffic and veered off the side of the road, causing it to roll down a hill, according to the Patton Township Police Department. After crashing through trees, it landed on the drivers side, preventing the driver from exiting the vehicle.

The driver, a male who has not been identified at this time, was removed from the vehicle by Alpha Fire Company. He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries, according to first responders.

Officials at the scene said they have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to veer off the road, but will release more information as it becomes available.
