ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Rep. John Joyce (R-13th District) was in Altoona Thursday to see the new Amtran buses hit the streets.

Amtran has three new buses that come with new features, including running on compressed natural gas, which will create a smaller carbon footprint. They’ve also added better access for seniors and people with disabilities and have improved safety and security systems.

Joyce said the buses will help people who rely on public transportation.

“Whether that’s to or from work, where that’s to or from school, whether that’s too or from recreation. Amtran has stepped up, and I’m proud to see the community project funds have come back to Blair County,” Joyce said.

Joyce also said the new buses will allow Amtran to expand in the northern Blair County regions, including stops at Delgrosso’s Park six days a week.
