Cops ask for help solving murder

New Orleans Police have released a picture of a man they want to find as part of the investigation of a murder.

"The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in a homicide that occurred in the 4100 block of South Derbigny Street," according to a news release.

The killing was on April 10th, 2024, around 1:25pm.

"An unidentified Black male suspect approached an adult male victim, brandished a gun, and shot him. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he has since died."

The release says that NOPD Homicide detectives have developed the pictured individual as a person of interest in this investigation.

"This subject is not currently wanted on criminal charges. However, detectives feel he may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to question him."
