( KRON ) – Three people were arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence in the San Francisco Police Department's Traffic Unit DUI saturation patrol on April 20.

4 drivers arrested for DUI, 25 cited in Santa Rosa checkpoint

The DUI saturation patrol occurred on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. According to SFPD, crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized DUI checkpoints and DUI patrols are conducted routinely.

SFPD reminds drivers caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
