    Roadwork planned for Hwy. 169

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will resurface and improve seven miles of Hwy 169 between Crow Wing CR26 south of Garrison to half-mile north of Ojibwe Drive, starting in May.

The project includes new storm sewer, guardrail upgrades and new left-turn lanes at CR26 Timber Trail and Swing-A-Way/S Port. Most work to occur at off-peak hours or overnights. Three culverts will be replaced.

Drivers should expect alternate one lane one-way traffic with flaggers, mainly overnight or at off-peak work hours, weekdays. A detour for pipe work (up to 4-6 days) will run along Crow Wing CR26, Crow Wing CR8 and Crow Wing CR2 (460th Street).

Construction will run through mid-July. MnDOT says the work will provide a new smoother road surface, improve drainage and improve traffic flow and motorist safety.

The estimated cost is $4.6 million.
