A police chase ends in a crash in Granville County

A police chase ended in a crash Tuesday morning in Granville County.

The police chase started with Butner police before ending 20 minutes later on Deerfield Road in Granville County. The suspect -- driving a white sedan -- crashed into a Granville County sheriff's deputy's vehicle.

According to Granville County deputies and the State Highway Patrol, the suspect drove up the street before running off the road and rolling over.

The suspect ran from the scene but was later caught. They were taken away in an ambulance with law enforcement escorts.

The white sedan was towed.

Officers were not injured. There was also minor damage to the deputy's vehicle.

Butner police will handle the charges, Granville County deputies said.

It is not yet known what started this chase.
