SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia’s annual celebration of hunting and fishing is coming back to north central West Virginia.

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) announced in a press release Monday that the National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration will return to Stonewall Resort in Lewis County on Sept. 21, 2024.

The event has been held at Stonewall in previous years but was held in Beckley last year.

According to WVDNR Director Brett McMillion, the event is designed to inspire West Virginia’s next generation of outdoor enthusiasts. During the event, there will be seminars and presentations as well as vendors offering outdoor equipment and samples of Appalachian dishes, including wild game.
