Miles of backups on I-95 North in Caroline due to multi-vehicle crash

UPDATE: VDOT is reporting that traffic is resuming normal flow.

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Caroline County drivers experienced over 5 miles of backups on Interstate 95 North on Sunday due to a multi-vehicle crash.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the crash took place at about 11:12 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, on I-95 northbound near Jericho Road.

At about 11:38 a.m., while no lanes were closed, there were about 6 miles of backups. Traffic remained congested for multiple hours.
