    Here's how you can celebrate Mother's Day in St. Clair, Sanilac counties

    Celebrate mothers, grandmothers and maternal figures locally this year with these nearby events.

    Mother's Day is right around the corner. Here's some places where you can either find the perfect gift or spend some quality time with the mother figures in your life.

    Foundry Market

    Celebrate mom by finding a gift created by local vendors and artisans. The Foundry is hosting a Mother's Day vendor market on the first weekend of May. People will be able to find things such as pottery, candles, coffee and jewelry for their moms to enjoy.

    Additionally, people will be able to order personalized items from select vendors.

    The Mother's Day Vendor Market will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. on May 3; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 4 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 5.

    For the market on May 4, there will be a candle pouring workshop starting at 2 p.m. and a $10 activity for kids to create a craft for their moms.

    The Foundry is located at 1219 Military St. in Port Huron.

    Cadillac House

    People will have two opportunities to celebrate Mother's Day at the Cadillac House Inn and Tavern this year.

    From 4 to 8 p.m. on May 11, the Cadillac House is hosting a jewelry pop-up event with Lexington-based Sparked with Purpose Permanent Jewelry. Prices start at $40 for the choice between bracelets, necklaces and anklets. Sparked with Purpose will have 40 different chains and 80 charms for people to choose from as well.

    The pop-up will be taking place in the lobby area of the Cadillac House.

    Starting at 10 a.m. on May 12, the Cadillac House will be holding a Mother's Day brunch. People can make reservations or receive further information on the brunch by calling (810) 359-7201.

    The Cadillac House Inn and Tavern is located at 5502 Main St. in Lexington.

    Kate's Downtown Brunch

    Kate's Downtown will be the place to be for brunch this Mother's Day.

    Kate's Downtown has seating available for 10 a.m. and noon for the brunch on May 12. Everything people love from the cafe will be available, including soups, salads, baked goods and more. Additionally, there will be an open espresso bar and a variety of beverages to choose from.

    There will also be a complimentary mimosa and petite flower bouquets given to mothers in attendance.

    The cost of the brunch will be $40 for adults, $12 for children 12 and under and free for those either under 5 years old or over 90 years old.

    To reserve a spot, people are being asked to either message the Kate's Downtown Facebook page or send an email to Required details in the reservation message are guest count, specifying how many adults and children, time of seating and number of mothers in the group.

    Payment will be via emailed invoice, so people must also include their email in the reservation message.

    Kate's Downtown is located at 231 Huron Ave. in Port Huron.

    Windjammer Mother's Day Buffet

    The Windjammer Bar and Grill will be holding a Mother's Day buffet from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 12. Reservations are required and can be made at The buffet will cost $39.50 for adults and $16 for children.

    Featured in the buffet will be chef attended carving station and pasta station, sushi, seafood, fresh fruit, salads, beverages, petite desserts and an ice cream bar. The full array of menu items can be found on the Windjammer's Facebook page.
