4 transported after a crash in Monroe County

COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say, four people were transported to the hospital after an accident in Monroe County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Stroudsburg around 4:54 p.m. Friday afternoon, PSP-Stroudsburg was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injuries and entrapment.

Upon arrival, state police said a car hit a tree head-on in Coolbaugh Township on I-380 South with four individuals inside the car.

The report states the driver was conscious, the passenger was ejected from the vehicle resulting in suspected severe injury, and the two passengers in the back seat were trapped until fire responders arrived.

Officials say all four occupants were transported to Lehigh Valley Pocono and Geisinger Community Medical Center.
