Here's what you need to know for your Friday forecast — it's going to be cool during the day, but warmer temperatures are in store for the weekend.

A thick marine layer has come across the Southland, making for cooler weather along the coast and valleys and with low clouds struggling to clear, we're looking at partly cloudy skies.

Across the Southland highs will be in upper 60s, low to mid 70s for the inland areas and valleys — closer to the coast temperatures will average to 62 degrees with more patchy fog until 11 a.m.

The warmest areas will be San Bernardino where you can expect a high of 74 degrees.

Over in the deserts, expect a high of 78 degrees in Victorville, and a toasty 93 degrees for Coachella Valley.

Tonight's lows will be in the 50s. This weekend expect a warmup with highs in upper 70s, mid 80s.
