Knox Co. storm causes outages, damage, & an overturned semi

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Reports of storm damage poured in throughout Thursday night and into Friday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through Knox County.

According to Knox County Sheriff, Doug Vantlin, the damage included power outages, internet outages throughout the county including at multiple government offices, and an overturned semi.

“We had spotted power outages in and around Vincennes,” Vantlin said. “Overturned semi on US 41 at the State Road 61 overpass. Also, internet is down at several locations including the Sheriff’s Office.”

As strong winds blew through the area, multiple people lost power to their homes. Duke Energy reported over 8,000 customers were without power in the Vincennes area around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday night.

Vantlin also reported there were, “no serious injuries.”
