Registration is now open for the Hope For The Warriors’ annual Memorial Day 30x30 Wellness Challenge.

Presented by Owens & Minor, the free challenge will kick off May 1 and run through May 30.

The virtual wellness challenge focuses on an individual’s physical and emotional well-being while honoring and remembering those who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving.

The challenge is designed to get people moving by incorporating any type of physical activity for a minimum of 30 minutes for 30 days in a row to show their commitment and support to the military community.

Any activity counts, such as walking, running, hiking, swimming, lifting and dancing.

Participants are encouraged to register for the free 30-day fitness challenge at hopeforthewarriors.org as an individual or a team.

Participants can log their daily activity through the website to maintain a cumulative total for the challenge.

Fundraising incentive prizes for individuals begin at $100 and continue at $250, $500 and $1,000.

Weekly, participants will receive emails that aim to motivate, inspire and share ideas to help sustain well-being. In addition, signing up for the 30x30 challenge will provide access to the Hope For The Warriors’ sports and recreation resource library, which contains exercise demonstrations, healthy eating tips, and mindfulness activities.

“The Hope For The Warriors Memorial Day 30x30 Wellness Challenge is great way to begin your fitness journey or a way to ramp it up,” said Robin Kelleher, co-founder and president of the nonprofit organization. “Regardless of where you are, this challenge is a great reminder to pay respect to those who are currently serving, those who have served, and to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.”

Since its inception in 2006, Hope For The Warriors has served over 159,000 through a variety of support programs focused on providing financial, career and educational stability; physical and emotional strength; and social support that builds community.

The nonprofit has dedicated its mission to restoring a foundation of stability, strength and community for post-Sept.11 veterans, service members and military families.
