The New Orleans Police Department has a suspect in custody in an early-morning double homicide in the Hoffman Triangle area of Central City.

Investigators arrested 21-year-old Ronell Reeder for the shootings in the 4000-block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. near N. White Street.

"At about 4:20 a.m., NOPD Second and Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location," said police. "Upon arrival, officers located two adult male gunshot wound victims. Both victims were declared deceased on scene."

Police say while detectives were still on the crime scene, Reeder surrendered at the NOPD Second District station.

Police say he will be booked with second degree murder.

The case remains under investigation and NOPD asks anyone with information to contact the homicide division at (504) 658-5300.
