Freestone County Commissioners moved forward their plans to purchase a new audio/ visual system for the district courtroom.

The court made that decision at their April 10 meeting, when the commissioners also voted to buy consoles for the Dispatch Office and to go out for bids on tree cutting and removal.

As for the audio/visual equipment, County Auditor Karen Craddock opened the two bids she had received on the audio/ visual equipment, which were:

• Data Projection - $124,602; and • Justice A/V Solutions - $57,715.

IT Director Dane McBroom said the bids would have to be studied to be sure they were equivalent, and the court members agreed that a decision would be made at the May 1 Commissioners Court meeting.

Also at the April 10 meeting, the court voted to spend $51,535 of ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds to purchase consoles (special desks) through the buyboard for the dispatch office.

In another agenda item, the commissioners agreed to go out for bids on tree cutting and removal.
