Here’s a look at some of the top teams and players in Baltimore County.

Hot streaks

Teams that are playing at the top of their games

Catonsville boys lacrosse : After dropping their opener to Mount Saint Joseph, the Comets have reeled off five straight wins, allowing five goals or fewer in each game while scoring an average of 15.2.

New Town baseball: The Titans have been bashing the ball on their way to a 5-0 start. They’re averaging 17 runs per game and have won their past three — over Chesapeake-BC, Carver A&T and Overlea — by shutout.

Franklin softball: The Indians have won three straight games, all against Division II rivals Western Tech, Patapsco and Hereford. They are scoring 14.7 runs per game during the stretch.

Hereford girls lacrosse: Tuesday’s win over Eastern Tech moved the Bulls to 6-0 on the season. They’re scoring 13.3 goals per game and only giving up 4.7, including two shutouts.

Towson softball: The Generals extended their winning streak to seven games and sit 8-1 overall. On Wednesday, they beat Eastern Tech, 5-3, giving the Mavericks their first loss of the season.

Players who have been clutch performers for their teams

JP Revitte, Hereford, boys lacrosse : Revitte totaled seven points in each of the Bulls’ two wins this week, nonconference victories over Manchester Valley and Mt. Hebron. He had five goals and two assists against the Mavericks and four goals and three assists against the Vikings.

Nicole Camacho, Western Tech, softball: On Monday against Parkville, Camacho played in her first game since the season opener March 22. She went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple, four runs scored and eight RBIs.

Chloe Fields, Sparrows Point, softball : In her past four games, Fields has been a spark for the Pointers, hitting a combined 7-for-14 with a double, seven RBIs and four runs scored.

Jadon Gaines, Hereford, track and field: The reigning Class 2A high jump state champion is 4-for-4 so far this spring, winning every meet he’s competed in with a top height cleared of 6 feet, 2 inches.

Willow Case, Dundalk, girls lacrosse: Case scored her 100th career goal in the Owls’ game Tuesday against Lansdowne.

AJ Mendoza, Perry Hall, baseball: In five appearances this spring, Mendoza has pitched 20 2/3 innings and given up just two earned runs for a 0.68 ERA. He’s also struck out 39 batters.

A numbers game

2 — Combined games lost by Hereford tennis’ two girls singles players — Julia Carrese and Ivanka Charchalis — in Monday’s match against Dulaney.

5 — Seconds Parkville’s Aaron Lippman cut off his personal record time in the 800-meter run to win Saturday’s TU Classic High School Invitational. His time of 1:56.79 is the ninth-fastest in Maryland this outdoor season and tops among public schools.

7 — Runs Perry Hall was losing by in the fourth inning Saturday against Franklin. The Gators came back to win, 9-8

15 — Saves on 16 shots for Towson boys lacrosse goalie Alex Hochrein in a nonconference win over Fallston on Monday.

17 — Strikeouts for Western Tech’s Brandon Chmielewski in a 9-1 victory over Loch Raven in his first start of the season. He allowed just two hits.

90 — Combined feet Hereford freshman John Jachens threw the shot put covering two meets in a three-day span last week.
