YMCA campaign aims to protect kids from sexual abuse

"This weeklong campaign raises awareness and inspires adults to act to protect children from sexual abuse. A series of social media posts and educational collateral, providing information and resources, will be provided," the YMCA said in a news release. "The Monroe Family YMCA encourages adults and organizations to join in marking this special week as Monroe County comes together to make the community a safer place for children to live, learn and play."

“The children of Monroe County have the right to a happy and safe childhood, and it's our responsibility as adults and organizations to stand up to protect that right,” said Penny Marino, CFO, human resource director and certified Praesidium Guardian for the Monroe Family YMCA. “By participating in the Five Days of Action campaign, we hope to inspire other organizations and members of our community to create safe spaces that protect children from sexual abuse.”
