A roundabout is coming to The Falls at Mill Creek neighborhood on East Cherokee Drive.

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted April 16 to award a $2.2 million construction agreement to Bartow Paving Company, Inc. to build a roundabout at the intersection of East Cherokee Drive and Mill Creek Drive.

This three-way intersection includes stop-control on Mill Creek Drive, which is a two-lane road. It serves as one of two entrances to The Falls at Mill Creek subdivision.

There is a residential subdivision with 59 single family homes planned for the fourth leg of the roundabout, according to county documents. The developer of that subdivision dedicated the necessary right-of-way and construction easement for the construction of the roundabout, and will contribute $150,000 toward the construction cost.

The project is expected to take a year to complete once construction begins, according to the county.
