Weather wrap-up: Storm reports, rain totals and wind gusts

Tuesday brought a variety of impactful weather including heavy rain, strong winds and isolated tornadoes.

The tornadoes occurred in Dallas, Calhoun, and Pocahontas Counties. (There were other tornadoes reported in far eastern and far northwestern Iowa as well).

A Wind Advisory was in effect throughout the day. There were numerous non-thunderstorm reported high wind gusts. Here are just a few of the highest wind gusts reported.

Heavy rain fell over a good swatch of Central Iowa. In particular, from Creston up towards Ames, just west of the Des Moines Metro. This map shows where the heaviest rain fell.
