Possible Storms Tonight, Likely Storms Early Tomorrow Morning

Possible development of storms tonight, however, main threat will be early tomorrow morning.

SPC Outlook:

• Slight risk for storms (level 2 out of 5) in our region tonight.
• This risk is for our Kansas Counties as well as our Oklahoma Counties.
• Low risk for Missouri and Arkansas Counties.

Threat Breakdown:

• If storms do develop, it would require a lot of energy to break the cap.
• A cap is like a lid on the atmosphere blocking severe storms from firing up.
• If storms are able to overcome the cap, then we would be looking at mainly hail threats, and a few tornadoes possible.

Possible Evening Storms:

• As of right now, severe storms do not look like they will break through tonight.
• We may see a few showers in the southern counties, but storm threat is holding off until early hours on Tuesday.

Possible Morning Storms:

• We could expect the pacific front to pass as early as 3 am, but likely holding off until about 4-5 am.
• These storms develop along the front with the main threat being winds gusting up to 50mph (for the event and the rest of the day).
• Storms are likely to happen, but unlikely to be severe.

7 Day Forecast:

• After Tuesday storm chances, we have a nice day on Wednesday.
• Rain chances return as a cold front moves through our region on Thursday.
• Temperatures drop well below average after the frontal passage.
• Friday night into Saturday, we could expect to see rain chances again.
