Hanover County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the community’s help locating the person responsible for taking the life of a juvenile at a party.

“We understand that many people were present at the event where this incident took place,” said Sergeant Steve Wills, with the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, “To those who were there: your footage, whether it’s audio, video or pictures, can be invaluable to our investigation. We urge anyone who attended the event and captured any form of media to come forward.”

Deputies responded to complaints about parking and a "large party" near McClellan Road and Agape Lane at around 10:46 p.m. on Saturday, April 6. While on the way, they received a second call that shots had been fired at the same location.

At the scene, officers found multiple people surrounding the juvenile and performing CPR. Authorities then took over until Hanover Fire and EMS arrived. The juvenile was pronounced dead at the scene at about 11:25 p.m.

The juvenile has not been identified, but the sheriff’s office confirms that they are not from Hanover County.

Anyone who has audio, pictures or video related to the incident is asked to send the footage to Hanover detectives. Sgt. Wills says the purpose of submitting the footage is to bring justice to the victim’s family and loved ones, “not to investigate juveniles and young adults for minor offenses that may have been captured inadvertently in the media collected.”

Footage can be submitted here or by scanning the QR code above.
