Are you obsessed with organizing your home? Have you purchased endless amounts of organizers and baskets in an effort to keep messes off the ground and out of plain sight? Same here! But no matter how many Amazon organizers we buy, there's one place we can never keep tidy — our closets. Sure, we've purchased the cute baskets and baby hangers, but nothing seems to keep the space in order.
In an effort to create the ultimate closet storage, one woman turned to a DIY system to solve all of her organization issues and we are in awe of the final result.
If you're a new homeowner or clothes lover, you've probably done your fair share of research on built-in closets. In your research, there's a good chance you've discovered the options are endless and the prices are not cheap. While you can turn to a professional to help you install your built-ins, it's going to cost you.
In the name of pinching pennies, content creator and DIY enthusiast @ johnston.designs_ decided to DIY her own built-in closets and we couldn't be more impressed by the final result.
Modular Closets
Search "DIY closets" on TikTok and you're bound to find everything from Target bookcases turned built-ins to hundreds of results for the IKEA PAX System . When searching for the perfect system Kerry came across Modular Closets , a website dedicated to giving people the closets of their dreams. The design part was totally free and the assembly was simpler than she expected.

DIY Closet Makeover
The first step in her closet makeover was taking out all of the builder-grade shelves and rods. She then removes nails, adds spackle where it is needed, adds wallpaper for a beautiful accent, and gives the rest of the walls a fresh coat of paint. Then she gets to work installing the DIY closet system. For anyone opting to DIY their own closet, be forewarned, a lot of time will be spent putting the shelves together before you are able to install them. Once the shelves are built, she secures them to the walls and adds baskets and organizers to finish the entire thing off. We couldn't be more in love with this DIY closet makeover!
