The Summit County Sheriff's Office responded to a scary situation last week, when a man was found stumbling down a local highway with his clothes frozen to his body.

During a traffic stop, one of the Summit County Sheriff's Office deputies spotted the man struggling to walk down the median of Colorado State Highway 9. For reference, this route travels through Summit County over Hoosier Pass, through Breckenridge and Frisco to I-70, then north through Silverthorne toward Kremmling.

Upon spotting the situation, the deputy walked over to the man and helped him into the back of her patrol vehicle. She noticed the man was very intoxicated, covered in snow with frozen clothes.

The man was ultimately transported to the Summit Medical Center by ambulance.

Many details related to the situation were left untold, but it never hurts to remind those headed to Colorado that the alcohol can hit a bit harder in the high country. Consume with caution.
