Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Not sure what to do with those eclipse glasses? Chesterfield County Public Libraries may have a solution.

Now through May 31, eclipse glasses can be dropped off at any Chesterfield public library. The County’s library system is partnering with Eclipse Glasses USA to deliver eclipse glasses to schools in South America. The glasses will be used by the kids there to safely watch the annual solar eclipse that happens in October.

The next total solar eclipse that can be seen in the United States is not set to happen until 2044 .

“If you have eclipse glasses lying around after a recent eclipse event, consider donating them,” Eclipse Glasses USA says on its website . “By doing so, you're not just getting rid of an item; you're passing on the torch of knowledge, wonder, and safe exploration to the next generation.”

Eclipse Glasses USA says donated glasses should be undamaged and in good condition.
