Cat trees are so cool. Depending on where you go, you can get some seriously amazing cat trees - different shapes, sizes, and trinkets all around. Cat trees are so cool that humans get jealous!

Other pets in your home might get jealous, too, even if they're not cats. With the right cat tree, everyone can enjoy it, as seen in this TikTok from a pet mom who had her hands tied in this situation:

I actually used to have a cat tree for my bearded dragon: it sat in front of the window in my room, and she loved climbing up it to sunbathe! Whether you're @puggpickles or a scaly beast, a cat tree can be comfy if you let it!

There are two animals in this video: the feline victim, Pancake, and the criminal, Pickles. Pickles has Older Sister Authority: she's been with her mom now for nearly two years, and Pancake was just rescued recently from a nearby shelter. As cats often do, Pancake is starting to take over the house, so it was time for Pickles to put her foot down. What better way to do that than to sit in her tree?!

There should be no real problem here: Pancake will be a little bit grumpy about it at first, but she'll eventually get over it. Pickles can't climb as high as Pancake can, so Pancake will have the top levels for herself. Pickles just likes her one little nook!

Why You Should Get Your Dog a Cat Tree

Don't get too excited here, whether or not your dog can have a cat tree will obviously depend on the dog. Will a Pug fit on a cat tree? Yes. A German Shepherd? Maybe a really dedicated one...

If you have a small enough dog , a cat tree is a totally viable option. Dogs will benefit from the ability to climb: it'll help them stretch their muscles and they'll have tons of places to sit and watch. Small dogs in particular love to curl up, and cat trees provide a lot of places to do that. There are some things that will help make a cat tree a great place for your little dog to hang out:

  1. Ramps throughout the tree so your dog doesn't have such a steep climb up.
  2. Plush carpets or even beds for them to lie in.
  3. Toys dangling down - they do love to bat at things sometimes!
  4. Wide enough planks for them to walk on.

Dogs' worlds are significantly smaller than ours: they can't do anything we don't allow them to do. Giving them a cat tree helps make their world just a little bit bigger!
