Grand slams, no-hitters highlight Tulare County athlete of the week, March 25-28. Vote now

Visalia Times-Delta/Tulare Advance-Register readers can now vote for their favorite high school athletes at the newspaper's website, visaliatimesdelta.com. The poll closes on Thursday.

  • Karly Aguilar, softball, Golden West: Aguilar launched a double, triple and home run, registered four RBIs, and scored a pair of runs as the Trailblazers topped Corcoran 10-2.
  • Tanner Garnett, baseball, Exeter: Garnett earned the win on the mound in an 8-7 win over Sierra Pacific.
  • Ethan Griffith, boys tennis, El Diamante: Griffith went undefeated in two matches against Porterville and Golden West in singles and doubles. He won 9-8 (4) in doubles and 6-0, 6-4 in singles at Porterville and 8-3 in doubles and 6-1, 6-1 in a singles home contest versus Golden West.
  • Gage Hastin, baseball, Mision Oak: Hastin had two hits, including a double, and pushed across a pair of runs as the Hawks edged Tulare Union 6-5.
  • William Masterson, baseball, Tulare Western: Masterson fired a complete game with nine strikeouts as the Mustangs shut out Dinuba 4-0. He gave up six hits.
  • Lucas Reynoso, baseball, Mt. Whitney: Reynoso blasted a triple and knocked in two RBIs and also scored a run in a 6-4 win over Golden West.
  • Alexis Rico, softball, Redwood: Rico went a perfect 5-for-5 hitting with three runs, two RBIs and a triple in a 12-3 rout of Selma.
  • Erik Rico, baseball, Redwood: The winning pitcher, Rico fired a no-hitter, striking out eight in a complete game to lead the Rangers to an 8-0 win over Porterville.
  • Gavin Wilson, boys golf, Tulare Union: Wilson shot a 71 at the Tulare Golf Tournament. He placed fourth as an individual.
  • Isabella Zavaleta, softball, Tulare Western: Zavaleta hit a grand slam and a double and knocked in five runs in a 6-5 win over Selma.

Nominations are based on information available to the Times-Delta.

All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received for consideration by Monday morning following that week's games.
