A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for the western and northwestern portions of Acadiana until 8 p.m. tonight. This includes Jeff Davis, Allen, Beauregard and Calcasieu parishes.

Conditions are becoming more conducive for the development of tornadoes as broken lines of storms are currently working into the warned area.

These storms will continue to progress eastward and impact Acadiana later this evening, between 4-8 p.m. It appears, however, that the greater threat of storms, and severe weather, may be to our north across central parts of the state and heading into Mississippi during the evening hours.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has this area under a level three out of five risk of severe storms, with most of Acadiana remaining under a level two risk.
