Both of the candidates running in the May 14, 2024, Republican primary for West Virginia House of Delegates District 96 — Tanner Rogers (R) and Lisa White (R) — completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

Here are the candidates’ responses to the question: What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

Rogers:

  • “We must fix the broken, short-sighted ‘band-aids on gashes’ our political class calls ‘solutions’. This requires a new view on politics, and a new generation of leadership. We need ‘A New Future for West Virginia’.
  • West Virginia requires a comprehensive look at, if not an outright overhaul of, our education system. …
  • … We must promote better policies for West Virginian workers, so that our working-class can flourish and provide for their families, especially when the cost of living and the stresses of our current economy is rising.”

White:

  • “We must protect our unborn and help our mothers in crisis with support.
  • We must protect our 2nd Amendment Rights.
  • Full and complete school choice.”

We ask all federal, state, and local candidates with profiles on Ballotpedia to complete a survey and share what motivates them on political and personal levels. Ask the candidates in your area to fill out the survey.
