The UW Division of Extension has welcomed a new member to its team. Casidy Landry has accepted the role of outreach support associate, covering Barron, Burnett, Sawyer and Washburn counties.

She was originally hired in June 2023 as the marketing and communications associate in Washburn County Extension with the goal of magnifying and multiplying programming.

“We are thrilled that she will now serve more than one county, bringing her expertise and creating efficiencies while supporting 13 educators across four counties,” said Lori Baltrusis, area Extension director.

Landry’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. In addition to her degree, she has other certifications and licensing, uniquely qualifying her for this new role with Extension. She has more than 10 years of experience in business and marketing through various settings and locations, including Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Throughout her experiences, Landry has had a passion and knack for taking the ideas of others and making them a reality through a process she likes to call “arts and crafts.”

Landry is excited to take on this new role that has been created to support Extension educators. When not staffing a desk, creating flyers, updating the website, or meeting with educators to help them in any way possible, she can be found running her local youth soccer association, paddleboarding with her family on the local lakes and rivers, or with her nose in a book.

Over the past two months, she has been learning various systems to support programming and educators while also completing the behind-the-scenes tasks necessary to keep the office running.

The area Extension director said Barron County Extension has appreciated her willingness to take on many of the roles of the past support staff while also approaching the work in a new way with compassion and a lens for efficiency. She was also instrumental in helping the Barron County Extension office move to the UW-Eau Claire — Barron County Campus in the middle of February.

Stop by the new office space at 1800 College Drive, Rice Lake and introduce yourself to her. She can be found at the new office in the campus library twice a week. She and other local educators are available to help county residents connect to Extension programming, sign up for 4-H activites, or even give a tour around the new space.
