A pair of brothers have been arrested and face charges in the killing of a man in Ontario earlier this week.

On Tuesday, officers from the Ontario Police Department responded to the 300 block of West C Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had been shot multiple times.

He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics from the Ontario Fire Department. He’s been identified only as a 43-year-old man from Ontario.

Through their investigation, police determined that the victim was involved in a verbal dispute with two men that eventually turned violent. One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.

The suspects were later identified as brothers Michael Castillo, 18, and Daniel Castillo. The two were arrested Wednesday around 7:15 p.m. and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Michael Castillo faces charges for first degree murder; Daniel Castillo faces charges for accessory after the fact.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the Ontario Police Department at 909-986-6711. Anonymous tips can be provided online or by calling 800-782-7463.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family, police said.
