Social media influencer and self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate was detained in Romania on Tuesday, and an online streamer was confirmed to have been the tip-off that he was planning to flee the country.

Tate was taken into custody on a UK arrest warrant along with his brother Tristan Tate when the lawyers for Andrew Tate’s four accusers received information that he was planning to flee Romania. Will Sommer , media reporter for The Washington Post confirmed that the information came from a streamer named Adin Ross , who said in a video online:

Andrew had hit me up, he said, “Hey, I’m gonna be leaving Romania soon and probably never coming back if you wanna come over and do a week of longstreams and content before I leave, I think it’ll be big, and it’s never” — I’m sorry, he said, “It’s not, it’s basically now or never.”

Sommer posted the video and the memo from the accusers’ lawyers:

According to reports , Andrew and his brother Tristan were detained on Monday night and handed an arrest warrant by UK authorities stemming from an investigation into allegations of “sexual aggression” dating back to 2012-2015.

Tate and his brother were due to stand trial in Romania on separate charges of rape and human trafficking. They had been on house arrest, but Andrew Tate appealed for his release back in August. He was successful, on the condition that they don’t leave the country.
