    Former Rutgers wing Phil Sellers died Wednesday at the age of 69, the school announced .

    Known as "Phil the Thrill," Sellers is the Scarlet Knights' all-time leader in points and rebounds, and led Rutgers to the 1976 Final Four, a year in which he was named a consensus Second Team All-American.

    Rutgers retired Sellers's No. 12 jersey in 1988, and many regard him as the best player in program history, while also considering his 1975-76 squad the best team in program history.

    Sellers played one season in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons, who selected him in the third round of the 1976 NBA Draft.
