When it comes to really intense coasters and thrill rides, Disney World has historically paled in comparison to more coaster-oriented theme parks, including Universal Studios Orlando. However, since 1999, there's been at least one Disney roller coaster that thrillseekers could depend on: the Aerosmith-themed Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios.

Despite the popular coaster's longevity, there's a lot about the ride that most riders don't know- and to be fair, that's by design. But popular Disney expert The Mouselets knows the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster's "dark" secret, and finally let the truth slip to her viewers.

Much like Space Mountain , a lot of the thrill of riding the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster comes from what you don't see. If you've ever been on the ride, you'll know that the visual experience is a speedy, spiraling rush through a mostly pitch-black space, punctuated here and there by neon signs. It's a thrilling, disorienting rush, made all the more unpredictable by the lack of visual stimuli . However, what @themouselets knows is that there's a lot more surrounding the dark coaster than what riders can see- literally.

The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster's track is actually pretty compact- again, similar to Space Mountain- but the building that houses it is huge. That's because out in the darkness, the space around the roller coaster is used for storage and is filled with old and unused props from various other rides and attractions around Hollywood Studios , including fan favorites like The Great Movie Ride.

The Mouselets proves her claim by filming a very rare lights-on ride on the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. The lighting kills the fun illusion, but sure enough, amidst the chaos one can see all sorts of different storage boxes surrounding the ride- some of which look to be only feet from the track!

The hard-rocking roller coaster has served an efficient dual purpose for more than 20 years, with most guests none the wiser. Disney Imagineers are experts at hiding the park's more mundane aspects beyond exciting facades to keep guests' immersion and excitement high!
