COLDWATER — Nicole Goodrum, the owner of Glo, the new business in the Kerr Building, said there is nothing like her business in the area – an infrared sauna to go with her new yoga studio.

Goodrum installed two of the infrared Sunlighten saunas in a private alcove off to the side of the studio at 67 West Chicago.

"There’s lots of health benefits,” Goodrum said. “The infrared lighting is great for anything anti-inflammatory. It’s great for your hair and your skin. It’s very calming.”

There is a place to change in the curtained-off areas next to each sauna. The saunas accommodate one or two people.

Goodrum explained the system is less intense than the typical heat coil sauna. “This is not as hot. So you’re able to sit in there for half an hour and get all the benefits.”

Her husband, Bobby, and others remodeled the space. He added, “It sort of sweats the toxins out of you.”

The session is 30 minutes with a 10-minute cooling-off buffer period to change. The introductory price is $30 per session. Glo offers packages for the saunas. There is a smart screen inside for music or watching a show if you want more than relaxation.

Goodrum said, “I was actually inspired by my friend who has a sauna. And I thought that this would be a great addition to my hometown and wanted to bring a new concept to this community and also incorporate it with yoga, which I’m also very passionate about.”

The large studio area can provide live instruction or special instructors live on video streamed for the class at $10 a class.

Goodrum plans to use her own instructor from her former hometown of Pittsburgh.

“My husband got a job here. We moved here two years ago. I wanted to really open something of my own,” she said.

The business is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

Glo is closed on Sunday and Monday.
