Two local startups are among the twenty highest-valued startups in Greater Philadelphia, writes Kennedy Rose for The Business Journals.

The list of highest-valued startups in the area was compiled based on valuations within the last two years provided by venture capital analytics firm PitchBook as of October 19.

Among Montgomery County businesses, Ambler-based Phenom ranked highest in fourth place. The company’s most recent valuation was $1.43 billion as of April 7.

The human resources tech startup had a $100 million Series D round in April. Its business increased by around 40 percent between 2020 and the latest round, said company CEO Mahe Bayireddi.

The company is now working on doubling its 200-person team at its Ambler headquarters by the end of next year.

Genomind in King of Prussia ranked at No.16.

The company was last valued on April 22 at $126.4 million. Led by co-CEOs Dr. David Krause and Cynthia Kilroy, the personalized mental health company has secured several investments since its foundation twelve years ago. Most recently, it had a $4.9 million Series D.

The company offers consumers a “Mental Health Map,” a genetic test that provides them with better insight into the biology of their mental health.
