Maybe a few days after Daniel Jones threw for a career-high 402 yards, earning NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for leading the New York Giants to a comeback victory over the New Orleans Saints, wasn’t the best time to ask the quarterback about the constant criticism offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has faced.
Jones, though, was asked on Wednesday what he thinks when he hears that Garrett’s Giants’ offense is “too vanilla” or “too conservative.” Jones issued a strong defense of Garrett.
“I certainly don’t agree with it. I think when you watch the tape and you turn it on and you watch other offenses, I don’t think that’s a fair conclusion to draw from comparing different schemes,” Jones said.
