SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Last week, Brigham Young University director of athletics Tom Holmoe announced that Phoenix Suns associate head coach Kevin Young has been hired as head men’s basketball coach at BYU. Young, who was born in Salt Lake City, will continue working with the Suns in the playoffs, but will begin working on retaining current BYU players, contacting recruits and assembling a coaching staff immediately. He is considered one of the most respected assistant coaches in the NBA, having worked with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Joel Embiid during stints with the Suns and Philadelphia 76ers.
Naclerio inducted to NYS Hall of Fame
Cardozo High School’s own boys basketball coach Ron Naclerio was inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame in Troy, NY last weekend. “Beyond excited and thinking of so many things,” Naclerio wrote on social media site X before the weekend’s festivities. “Need to ‘Thank’ so many. To all of my players, my assistant coaches, as well as many others who helped me I want [to] let you know — Thank You!!!”
