(DALLAS-FORT WORTH, Texas) A community transmission map from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that all counties in North Texas are “high transmission” areas, WFAA reports

“High transmission” means that COVID-19 cases in that area have increased past 100 new cases per 100,000 residents over the last seven days, a positivity rate of more than 10%.

Per the CDC’s guidelines, people living in areas of “substantial” or “high” transmission should wear face masks in public indoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status.

Between Tarrant, Collin, Dallas and Denton counties, Tarrant County has the most COVID-19 hospitalizations at 14.22%, according to a map from the Department of State Health Services showing the past seven days. Dallas County’s percentage of COVID-19 patients in hospitals is 8.77%.

In surrounding counties outside of Dallas-Fort Worth, virus hospitalizations are upwards of 20% and 30%, such as 37.14% in Johnson County.

In Dallas and Tarrant counties, about half of eligible residents have been fully vaccinated, according to the state’s data
