Texas Road Rage Killer of Teenager Now in Custody

Texas State News by Evan Green, Texas Crime and Justice Bureau Chief

A Texas teen was shot and died soon after as a result of "road rage".

Following a road rage incident following a Houston Astros game, police in Houston have identified a suspect they say shot and killed a 17-year-old David Castro.

34-year-old Gerald Wayne Williams has been charged with murder.

Castro was in his father's truck with his family when he was shot. A couple of days after the shooting, Castro succumbed to his injuries.

Paul Castro and his two sons reportedly had some kind of altercation with the driver of a white, four-door Buick LaCrosse after they left the baseball game. The driver of the truck pursued Castro and his family for several miles before opening fire at the truck. David Castro was shot in the head during the incident.

They also released a video of the suspect's vehicle and a sketch of the suspect. Williams' vehicle was later found abandoned in a field and torched, but Texas police were able to link it to him.

Paul Castro said it was a relief to have a name for the suspect. Castro also encouraged Williams to hand himself over to the long arm of the law.

This was so senseless! What is wrong with people these days?! This shooter needs to never be released on society again! He obviously can't control his anger and has a very low regard for the life of anyone! My heart and prayers go out to the family of the young man who was killed.
