Pennsylvania Son Kills Mom, Dad, and Self

A man murdered his parents then called 911 to report they were shot in the family home in Western Pennsylvania. Two Pennsylvania officers were sent to the location to investigate and that is when the man opened fire on them and injuring both of them.

He then fled from the Mount Lebanon home and led Dormont officers on a car chase before the car eventually crashed and flipped over. According to authorities, he was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The 25-year-old man reported saying his parents were dead and he wanted to surrender. There were reports that he was fighting with his parents when the incident occurred, during which his father, 65, and mother, 59, were inside their home. Their names were not released.

During the exchange, officer Rob Barnes was shot in the chest. However, he was not seriously injured since he was wearing a bulletproof vest. After being treated at a hospital, he was released.

Further details about the injuries of the 2nd police officer were not provided.

Authorities in Pennsylvania have not stated what triggered the family argument that led to the shootings. It wasn’t clear if anyone else was in the home at the time, but no other injuries were reported.
