The individual probably thought it would be easy to get away with a bunch of signed petitions targeted at left-wing members of the San Francisco school board.

Many people believe that those members are far more interested in finding new names for buildings than having kids back in the classroom, as reported by The Blaze.

    What are the details?

The thief was caught on video by a recall volunteer and what happened next is hard to believe.

As pointed out by Here Say, the recall action is aimed at board President Gabriela López, Vice President Faauuga Moliga, and Commissioner Alison Collins. The latter was also in the middle of a controversy wave due to past racist posts on social media.

Kit Lam shared with KGO-TV that he was just collecting signatures for the recall when a man suddenly offered to sign the petition. However, the suspect then took the clipboard away from the volunteer, including other people's signatures and addresses.

“You took the petitions, I saw you!” Lam confronted the suspect whose identity has not been published by the police.

“I looked at it, I decided I didn't want it anymore, I don't have it,” the man answered.
“I couldn't believe it because I saw him toss the clipboard under the car,” Lam said for KGO. And, indeed, that’s precisely where another individual saw the missing clipboard.

“There you got it back. I'm sorry. You caught me. You caught me,” the man told Lam.

However, Lam, who is a school district parent, still felt there was something wrong.

“I realized some petitions are still missing,” he later said for the news station.

“Where are the other ones? Where are the other ones?” Lam shouted at the man.

And sure enough, it turned out the man was hiding them in the back of his jeans. He handed over the petitions and emptied his pockets in front of Lam.

“What is your name sir? What is your name? Why are you doing this?” Lam asked the individual.
“I was just furious, and why would someone do this, why?” Lam later shared with the station.
As the man tried to walk away, Lam shouted at him, “Stop! You are breaking the law!”

Lam reported the incident to the San Francisco police, and he hopes the thief will be taken into custody.
