Ohio State Representative Larry Householder: Will He Stay, or Will He Go?

Larry Householder has had all the spotlight from the Ohio community this past year but not in a positive way. After being accused of a $60 million-dollar bribery scheme while serving as the speaker of the House, Householder was removed from his position last summer but promptly re-elected in the fall.

Nearly a year after Ohio Representative Larry Householder was indicted for federal racketeering, State Lawmakers are now getting around to remove Householder from Ohio Office altogether. Considerable progress is being made to remove him from his law-making positions. In addition, lawmakers in Ohio have begun to meet to come up with solutions.

Though Ohio Lawmakers from either party do not necessarily agree on whether Householder should be removed or not, some argue that it is difficult to remove him from his seat because he was the only candidate on the ballot. His peers can't help but wonder how this would have all unfolded if another name would have made its way on the ballot. But running unopposed indeed does present its challenges.

This is not black and white and is a very complex situation at hand. Householders' peers were scratching their heads on Thursday wondering how they could have a lawmaker running Ohio who is not trustworthy and has corrupt morals? While others find it hard to fight the facts.

State Representative. Bill Seitz said,

“We are dealing with someone who was dually elected by over 30,000 people in his district”.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place because of his reelection, Ohio lawmakers are in a tough spot right now when it comes to resolving where Householder fits in the equation of Ohio Lawmaking. The future is unknown for Householder.
