    Suspects Arrested in Trying to Defraud SMC Recycling

    Two individuals have been arrested for allegedly defrauding SMC Recycling. According to officials, weight amount was changed to show the customer brought more than what he actually did.

    Warrants were issued for Booneville resident Christopher Gene Wells, 29, who was an employee of SMC. He was charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.

    Also charged was Baldwyn resident Clifton Benard Bryd, 64, with Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.

    Justice Court Judge Craig Bishop set both men's bond at $5,000.00 each. Investigator Torie Jumper is working the case and will be presenting it to the next Prentiss County Grand Jury.

    According to the Prentiss County Sheriff's Department, Investigators Jason Chism, Aaron Stolz, Deputies Jimmy Jarman and Ethan Hester along with Baldwyn Police Department assisted in the investigation.
