Summer is in full swing and tourists and locals alike are looking for a spot on the nearest beach. California is a popular tourist destination, especially in the summer months. If you haven't planned your vacation yet I am going to present you a few options.

The Channel Islands Harbor has countless activities to offer for young and old, adventure seekers and culture lovers. You can embrace uncrowded beaches, jump on a jet ski, or explore a museum exhibition.

One of the activities for water lovers and ocean explorers is to rent a boat. The available boats for rent are electric boats, kayaks, paddleboards, motor skiffs, and sea cycles. The boat rentals are available throughout the year. Please visit Hopper Boat Rentals Website for opening hours.

For those looking for some action, Jet Skies can be rented from Southern California Jet Skies. They also offer bike rentals for those wanting to explore the coastline by bike.

A&M Boat Charters are offering diving excursions to coastal and rocky reefs, oil rigs, and wrecks. You can also rent a kayak or go on organized kayaking tours to Anacapa Island, one of the Channel Islands.

For fishing fans, various companies are offering boat rentals and organized tours. You can find businesses that specialize in saltwater fishing experiences. Open party and private charter trips can be booked through Hook's landing.

The region around the Channel Islands and the National Marine Sanctuary is popular for whale watching all year round. Marine wildlife sightings are quite common and the offered tours worth the trip.

Several beaches around Channel Islands Harbor are offering various entertainment options.

Inside the Channel Harbor entrance is Kiddie Beach Park located and is a dedicated swim beach. This is also the only place inside the Harbor where swimming is permitted. Watercraft can be launched here as well but only at the north side of the beach.

Hobie Beach is perfect for those planning to launch their non-motorized vehicle or going on a paddle with the kayak or stand-up paddleboard. It is located just north of Kiddie Beach.

On the west side of the Harbor is Hollywood Beach located which is offering a pristine recreation area. There is free parking available for those arriving early enough and public restrooms can be found at the northern end of the beach. Lifeguards are only available during the summer months.

At the east side of the Harbor on a stretch of one mile is Silver Strand Beach offering surfing spots, boogie boarding, and body surfing.

I hope you got now some ideas about beaches and things to do this summer in and around Oxnard and the Channel Islands Harbor.
