If you're wondering what educational places there are to discover in Chandler, Arizona, you've come to the right place!

Chandler is a wonderful city that has many amazing places to offer, and these also include educational centers, museums and more. Thanks to such places, you get to broaden your knowledge in certain areas and gain new experiences.

Visiting some of these places in Chandler might also be a great idea for a trip!

So, what educational centers can you find in Chandler? Let's have a look together, shall we?

    Huhugam Heritage Center

First and foremost, the Huhugam Heritage Center is an amazing place to visit in Chandler if you'd like to learn more about the Gila River Indian Community (and specifically about its two tribes, the Akimel O’otham and the Pee Posh).

According to the official website of the Huhugam Heritage Center:

"The Huhugam Heritage Center was built in 2003, fulfilling our Community vision to create a place for Community, culture, land, tradition and spirit: a place to honor and preserve our Him dak (our way of life). Come experience our unique and calming architecture. The Center stairsteps up out of the desert, the building silhouettes designed to blend in with the nearby mountain ranges and hills. In our state-of-the-art collections repository we care for Huhugam, Akimel O’otham and Pee Posh treasures from our ancestral lands boundaries of the Huhugam (also known by the archaeological name Hohokam), master artists, farmers and crafts people of our desert home."

And what do the collections include? Well, many things, among which you can find for example pottery, jewelry, tools, or O’odham baskets. There are also Arts and Crafts collections to discover.

If you'd like to visit the Huhugam Heritage Center, note that it is currently closed because of construction, however, you can put it on a list of places in Chandler that you'd like to visit in the future! Admission is free and the address of the center is 21359 South Maricopa Road in Chandler.

    Environmental Education Center

The second place worth visiting in Chandler if you'd like to learn something new is the Enviromental Education Center, which can be found in Southeast Chandler. Apparently, Best Things Arizona has named the center "Best Nature Center"!

The main focus of the center is on nature, environment and science. It offers various programs to the community, as well as exhibits and events - for example, you get to do yoga in the park! You can also explore art and science through their programs.

At the time of writing this article (12th June 2021), there is a volunteering program called "Helpful Hands Community Garden", which is described by Chandler Arizona thus:

"Sow it forward and help Chandler's Community Education Garden flourish. Volunteers are needed to assist with the year-round maintenance and sustainability of the garden. All levels of experience are welcome. Volunteers under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult."

If you'd like to visit the Environmental Education Center, go to 4050 E. Chandler Heights Road in Chandler where the place is located.

    Final Thoughts

There are many interesting places to visit in Chandler, and the two centers mentioned above (Environmental Education Center and Huhugam Heritage Center) are just some of them. Educational centers are great places to gain new insights into topics you're curious about, and therefore they make for wonderful trips.

Although the Huhugam Heritage Center is closed at the moment, you can still visit it in the future. Chandler will always be there for you whenever you decide to visit or explore the city!

Have fun and, what's most important, stay safe and healthy.
