We are all looking forward to the reopening of this fun rooftop location.

Imagine enjoying a relaxing margarita with your bestie. You glance at the menu and just can’t decide, but the handmade tortillas are calling your name.

The dine-in menu also stars homemade guacamole and salsas and roasted Carne.

You glance over and see… a taco truck. In the rooftop bar no less.

It’s so much fun, this rooftop is almost always a guaranteed party. It’s in a great location on Capitol Hill, allowing for a great view of the sunset.

Mezcaleria Oaxaca has a large, well-ventilated outdoor patio on the second floor with plenty of tables that are well spaced out.

Oaxaca. Here’s how you say it: Wa-ha-ka.

I highly recommend you make a reservation on Tock under “Mercado Luna” as this place gets packed, even on a weeknight.

Reservations are recommended, but if there are just two of you, take a chance. You might find a table for two or a spot at the bar any day of the week.

This is a credit/debit card-only restaurant where all the ordering is done via your phone through a QR code. Servers will then bring the food to your table.

Customer service is warm and welcoming.

The downstairs interior is just as cool.

Each year, the Eater Awards announce their Stone Cold Stunner award, for excellent restaurant design.

In 2014 Mezcaleria Oaxaca’s Capitol Hill location was in the running and we can see why. The interior features a design from Graham Baba Architects and Dovetail General Contractors.

The more than 3000 square foot space used to be an auto repair shop.

The high ceilings support the atmosphere of subtle lights in the right spots to focus on the tables. As soon as you enter you see the kitchen on the left in the center.

Each table was distributed evenly on the window side and on the back wall is a framed collage of black and white portraits of Mexican landmarks and people.

The polished grey floors and stainless steel appliances come together in an open plan to create a spacious atmosphere with many cozy corners for intimate get-togethers.

Mezcaleria Oaxaca is the cool taqueria that just read your mind.

    Quench your thirst.

There is an extensive list of fruity, a list of interesting strong cocktails and cold beer on the menu.

There’s a whole section dedicated to smokey drinks and if you like Mezcal, you’ll enjoy the selection.

The Mezcal Margarita and Paloma Chingona are recommended.

The Spicy Margarita is another favorite with ‘Chile de Arbol’ infused Sauza Blue Tequila, Fresh Lime Juice, and Triple Sec.

The Single Michelada is an award-winning drink. These are made of our secret spicy salsa, lime, a tamarindo straw, and your choice of Cerveza Mexicana.

Originally owned and operated by the owners of La Carta de Oaxaca and El Mezcalito (Queen Anne location), this restaurant was purchased by several of their staff and is now operated independently.

The Taco window is open for business.
“We can’t serve you inside, so we are happy to serve you outside.”

For now, we are providing take-out and are happy to have you order online, then pick up at our Taco window on Summit Ave.
