When you head out on a cruise, you’re most likely thinking about suntan lotions, umbrella cocktails, and endless buffets. You’re not likely to be thinking about disappearing without a trace.

Yet that is what has happened to over 250 people on cruise ships in the last ten years.

Are these accidental cases of falling overboard? Or, perhaps foul play? Maybe even a case of kidnapping?

The following people have disappeared from cruise ships, and their cases remain a mystery.

    GEORGE ALLEN SMITH

George Allen Smith disappeared while on his honeymoon in July 2005. George and his new bride, Jennifer, were taking a two-week Royal Caribbean Cruise from Greece to Turkey. They had spent the evening in question drinking and both became heavily intoxicated. Their onboard neighbor claims to have heard some yelling and arguing, followed by a loud ‘thump’. Jennifer was wandering the hallways and was later found passed out in a corner. Some crew members woke her up and she returned to her cabin and fell asleep. Jennifer would sleep a few hours and then wake up and head to her massage appointment.

When George was finally reported missing, investigators discovered some blood in his cabin and on the side of the ship. It was believed he went overboard, either from his drunken state or from foul play.

Jennifer received lots of criticism regarding her actions that night. She believes that George fell overboard because he was so intoxicated. Police suspected foul play.

George was seen talking to a few men that evening, and some people began to speculate a fight with one of them turned bad. The FBI came in to investigate right away, but for some reason in 2012, the case was referred to the Mafia division.

Jennifer would collect a settlement of over 1 million dollars from Royal Caribbean and would go on to remarry in 2009.

    Amy Lynn Bradley

The disappearance of Amy Bradley stayed in the media spotlight for quite a while, due to the diligence of her parents and family.

Amy Bradley disappeared on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in 1998. On March 24th, Amy would spend the night and early morning drinking with the band on board, Blue Orchid. She would be with band member Alister Douglas until around 1:00 a.m.

Amy’s father, Ron, said he woke up around 5:00–5:30 and saw Amy on the balcony of their cabin. When he woke up at 6:00 a.m., Amy was not there.

There was no evidence that Amy fell overboard, however, there was no evidence of Amy at all.

The ship docked in Curacao and a four-day search was conducted, with no signs of Amy.

Over the years there have been many reported sightings of Amy in Curacao, but none which have panned out.

    Rebecca Coriam

Rebecca Coriam disappeared from Disney Cruise Lines in 2011. Her story is a little different as Rebecca was a crew member aboard the ship.

Rebecca maintained regular contact with her family via Facebook and Skype, even while on the ship. On March 21, when the ship set sail from Los Angeles on the way to Mexico, Rebecca messaged her family and said she’d contact them the next day.

When that day came and went without any contact from Rebeca, her family grew immediately worried.

Coriam also missed the start of her shift, and a search turned up nothing. Rebecca was not in her cabin and couldn’t be found anywhere. The ship security reviewed CCTV onboard and saw Rebecca on one of the telephones in the crew area around 5:45 a.m. She looked distressed. She then walked away.

Investigators feared that she may have gone overboard, but many conspiracy theories were discussed also, likely due to the secretive nature of the investigation itself.

Rebecca Coriam remains a missing person.

    Fariba Amani

Fariba Amani of Vancouver, Canada, disappeared while on a Bahamas Celebration Cruise in 2012. Her boyfriend, Ramiz Golshani, said he last saw her at 1:00 a.m. when he was heading to the casino, alone. When he returned to their cabin, Fariba was not there, but he wasn’t immediately alarmed. He decided to go to sleep and figured she’d return at some point.

When he woke up and she still wasn’t back, he went in search of her. Fariba was nowhere to be found, so Ramiz alerted the crew.

After a thorough search, there would be no trace of Fariba Amani.

Fariba’s sister immediately suspected Ramiz and said he and Fariba had a troubled relationship.

The disappearance of Fariba Amani remains unsolved.

One of the people mentioned here might have been killed by a spouse. And, that person got away with it. I don’t want to say a name, but from the evidence given, it sure looks suspicious.😟

I'm sure some drunk passengers have fallen off.
