1 person died in a single-vehicle crash on Sierra Highway (Santa Clarita, CA)

On Monday, one person died after their dump truck crashed into a ditch on Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita.

First responders got the news of the fatal incident at about 8:10 a.m. on Sierra Highway near Davenport Road in Canyon Country. On arrival, authorities found that a dump truck went into a ditch and one person was pinned inside the vehicle. Officers declared the person deceased at about 8:34 a.m.

Officials shut down the Southbound Sierra Highway for investigation. The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed at this time. As of now, officials have not provided any further details regarding the accident.

The crash remains under active review.
