Sometimes it can be really difficult to decide on a place to eat. During this past year, it has been pretty hard to go out and eating at restaurants was a luxury that just was not possible due to the pandemic. Now as summer is approaching in the Twin Cities and as many health mandates are being lifted, more and more restaurants are opening back up. The time to start going out to eat is almost here and with the many establishments that have popped up in the last few years makes it pretty hard to pick a place. Here are a few choices to lean towards for those that are having a tough time choosing.

    1. Pimento Jamaican Kitchen & Rum Bar

The Pimento Jamaican Kitchen & Rum Bar has served as almost like a landmark in the Twin Cities. Throughout the last year, this establishment has truly gone above and beyond in support for the community and being almost a headquarters or home base of sorts during the Black Lives Matter movement. The owners and workers at this restaurant truly embody their values of accepting all loves and goes beyond the norm in order to uphold those values. Outside of being a huge local activism hub, this kitchen and bar is still first and foremost a kitchen and bar. The establishment is once again pivoting back into its role as an amazing place to satisfy any hunger cravings with the ever popular jerk chicken on coconut rice.

Pimento Jamaican Kitchen & Rum Bar can be found located at 2524 Nicollet Ave.

    2. P.S. Steak

For those looking to make their dining out experience a more luxurious outing, P.S. Steak is a classic Minneapolis steakhouse that is found right in the heart of the city. The establishment itself is one of the most beatifully decorated and staged eating environments and is perfectly curated with fancy chandeliers and marble accents. Of course, being a steakhouse, P.S. Steak serves some of the best cuts of meat that can be found anywhere in the Twin Cities. Getting a reservation at this establishment is highly recommended as it may be difficult to squeeze in during the busier hours and days.

P.S. Steak can be found located at 510 Groveland Ave.

    3. Ngon Vietnamese Bistro

In the past few years, the Asian population in Minnesota has been steadily increasing and with that growth came a similar increase in the number of Asian restaurants to the food scene. Ngon Vietnamese Bistro is one of the best places in the Twin Cities for a piping hot bowl of pho. While the Pho might be the most popular option at Ngon Vietnamese Bistro the rest of the menu is filled with various other exciting options like a crispy fried rabbit dumpling.

Ngon Vietnamese Bistro can be found located at 799 University Ave W.

    4. Zen Box Izakaya

Another one of the great Asian restaurants found in the Twin Cities is Zen Box Izakaya. This establishment embodies the true dishes and cuisine of a traditional Izakaya in Japan paired with a true addiction to ramen. The owner of Zen Box Izakaya, John Ng, draws upon his personal experiences travelling throughout Japan in order to bring exciting and authentic flavors to every corner of his menu. Prior to the pandemic, one of the biggest demands from customers was for the choice to take out and get delivery from Zen Box Izakay. Since the many changes that the pandemic brought upon in the past year, Zen Box Izakaya is now serving take out to the happiness of many.

Zen Box Izakaya can be found located at 602 S Washington Ave.
